Within each zone, bin locations represent specific positions such as aisle 3, rack B, shelf 2. When stock is received, it is assigned to a bin location. When an order is picked, the picking list tells your team exactly which bin to go to. This structure reduces search time, speeds up picking, and makes stock takes more manageable because you can count one zone at a time. A cool room or freezer zone can also carry temperature limits: readings are logged against the zone, and anything out of range stays on the dashboard until a corrective action is recorded.
You create a transfer order specifying the source warehouse, destination warehouse, and the products and quantities to transfer. The transfer moves through stages: created, dispatched from the source, in transit, and received at the destination. Stock is deducted from the source warehouse when dispatched and added to the destination when received. Both warehouses can see transfers that are in transit, and every movement is recorded in the audit trail. If quantities received differ from what was sent, the discrepancy is flagged for investigation.
Yes. A stock take is scoped to a whole warehouse or to a single zone within one, so you can count one zone a day on a rolling basis without disrupting the rest of your warehouse operations. The count sheet is built from what the system believes is on hand, one line per lot and per bin, and it shows the lot number and the bin on every line so you always know which one you are counting. Counted quantities are compared against expected stock levels, and completing the count posts the differences as a stock adjustment that records the count it came from.
You can model a 3PL warehouse as a separate warehouse location within Frostbyte Pro. Stock held at the 3PL is tracked independently, and you can create transfer orders to move stock between your own warehouses and the 3PL location. Your team can scan to look a product or a serial number up, scan a delivery in at the door and book it against an open purchase order line, scan each item on a stock take, scan to confirm a pick against the lot the order actually wants, scan products onto a sales order, and scan a serial number to allocate it to an order. EAN 13, EAN 8, UPC A, UPC E, Code 128, Code 39 and the other common formats are read, along with GS1 barcodes that carry the lot number and best before date through to the receive form. Bin locations are not scanned, because a bin does not carry a barcode. For stock that arrived without a barcode you can generate an internal code and print your own labels as a PDF.
